First Reformed Church held its first service in 1884 when many settlers came to the prairies of the Dakotas to establish homes. They were people of strong religious faith and, through the years, endured many hardships like the Great Depression and poor farming conditions. But their belief in God and their church community was strong and God was faithful in providing. He raised up men and women to lead and work in the church through the years.

We celebrated our 125th anniversary in 2009. God's hand can be seen guiding this church through joys and sorrows, good times and bad times. May we continue to tell subsequent generations our story for it shows that “the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.” Psalm 100:5
